1814 - Sons of Zion - Tomorrow People concert!

1814

1814 are one of New Zealand's heavy weights. Selling out shows across australasia for the last 15 years, the band have finally released their fourth album “RED album” after 9 years from their last Album "Relax", they are back to write/produce and provide music across the nation.
The Red Album reached Nz top 20 albums, having 4 of their tracks reaching Nz top 10 singles,
“The inspiration behind the RED album was to have former members of 1814, come together, to record music purely for the people, the goal now is to keep producing music to help change and install positivity into people” Jimmy Colbert.

2008 the band released their first album "Jah Rydem" reaching Nz #1 on the Indie Charts and remaining on the top for several months back in 2009-2010, The "Jah Rydem" album is timeless. 2010 releasing their second album "Covers album" and in 2012, their third album "Relax"

1814 will be touring their "Red Album" across NZ with support acts, DJ JAYRASIK who has been performing in this industry and major festivals for over the last decade, with the new upcoming reggae Band Origin Roots Aotearoa who have released their first single “No More” reaching the top 20 nz singles, with an EP following later this year.

Sons of Zion have well and truly earned their place in the upper echelons of New Zealand music. From their humble Kiwi beginnings, to playing shows across the globe and dominating charts, they have amassed an impressive 40+ million streams on Spotify, more than 15 million views on Youtube and 100,000+ followers on social media. It’s a track record that has established Sons of Zion as one of the southern hemisphere’s most loved and well respected bands.

Sons of Zion

Sons of zion made their mark in 2009 with their self-titled debut album, following it up in 2013 with their full length studio album Universal Love, which included the smash singles ’Be My Lady’, ‘Good Love’ and ‘Tell Her’ – the latter two songs achieving #1 Urban and #1 NZ airplay respectively. They have achieved a multitude of Gold, Platinum and Double Platinum singles & albums throughout their career. The hits continue to flow, winning over new and old fans alike, their latest single ‘Love on the Run’ Featuring Jackson Owens has spent 4 weeks at #1 on the Hot NZ singles chart with over half a million streams on Spotify in the first month.

Sons of Zion have continued to push boundaries with their sound, evolving from their early days as a reggae act to the six piece that exists today. A band not confined by genre but simply motivated to make music that speaks to the heart and soul.

Tomorrow People
With a goal to sit amongst the top tier of New Zealand musicians, TOMORROW PEOPLE achieved exactly that in less than 2 years since their birth in 2010. Several years later, they have cemented themselves in the commercial music scene after releasing 2 full length albums, 2 EPs, 29 radio singles, 18 music videos and 5 music features with other artists.

2018 saw them release their fourth body of work, the 8-track EP “BBQ Reggae”. This EP debuted at #1 in the New Zealand Top 40, knocking English superstar Ed Sheeran off the top spot and giving the reggae outfit one of their biggest achievements to date. In their home studio hangs a Platinum plaque for their award winning debut ‘ONE’ and a Gold plaque for a collaboration project that they led.

A studio project turned live stage show, the 7-piece band are purveyors of what they describe as ‘sunshine reggae’. Focused on providing a mid-tempo sound that, while clearly reggae-centric, adds touches of dancehall raggae to its colour. It is a sound built around strong vocals, soothing harmonies, catchy hooks,

Labeled by some as the hardest working band in the country, this is likely due to the fact that Tomorrow People wrote, recorded, produced and mixed all their music themselves. Or it may be because they edit their own videos, design their own artwork, manage their own strategies, devise their own marketing plans and book their own tours, all while holding down full time day jobs.

But the bands strength does not only lie with the 25 million plus views they have amassed on YouTube, the key to their rise is noticeable in their dynamic live performance. With a diverse sound using multiple lead vocalists, the band take their listeners on a live journey and keep them wanting more. The effect becomes clear when you see their touring schedule selling out, and festival invitations recurring year after year. With multiple appearances at New Zealand’s premiere events such as Homegrown, Rhythm n Vines, One Love and Raggamuffin, the band is showing no signs of slowing down. .

2021 will see them begin their #FirstFridays campaign where they are on a mission to release one song on the first Friday of each month. Looks like it will be another busy year for the team.

This is an event you dont want to miss, having 3 of New Zealands top reggae bands all together to put on a show for you
