BRYAN ADAMS
NZ Summer Tour '18
Bryan Adams will bring his full live band for the first time in more than 15 years for this tour, with support from Kiwi music legends Dave Dobbyn and Jordan Luck Band (of the Exponents), taking in some of the country’s most iconic and picturesque outdoor summer venues.
January 4 – New Plymouth - TSB Bowl of Brooklands
January 5 – Mount Maunganui - ASB Baypark Stadium
January 6 – Hawkes Bay - Black Barn Vineyards
The Grammy Award-nominated Adams has spent the last three decades making music history. He’s sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of best-selling music artists of all time.
He rose to fame in 1983 with his CUTS LIKE A KNIFE album, which contained the hits ‘Straight From The Heart’, ‘Cuts Like A Knife’ and ‘This Time’. His smash LP RECKLESS followed in 1984, delivering three of his biggest hits - ‘Summer of ’69’, ‘Heaven’ and ‘Run To You’. In 1991 he topped charts around the world with the epic power ballad, ‘(Everything I Do) I Do It For You’.
His other hits include ‘Can’t Stop This Thing We Started’, ‘Kids Wanna Rock’, ‘Please Forgive Me’, ‘The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You’, ‘Lets Make A Night To Remember’, ‘Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?’, ‘When You’re Gone’ (with Melanie C), and ‘All For Love’ (with Rod Stewart and Sting).
“Adams performed a selection of the biggest hits from his 13-album catalogue with remarkable energy, repeatedly high tailing it from one end of the stage to the other during several guitar solos”
- The Telegraph
Two of New Zealand’s most-loved and recognisable fixtures, Dave Dobbyn and Jordan Luck Band (of the Exponents) will both play sets, opening for Adams at all four venues, completing a talent-packed line-up that’s guaranteed to be one of the must-see shows of early 2018.
Dobbyn started his career in Th’ Dudes and was one of the main creative forces in DD Smash, before going solo and releasing hit after hit, including ‘You Oughta Be In Love’, ‘Slice of Heaven’, ‘Loyal’ and ‘Welcome Home’.
Jordan Luck was the lead singer and songwriter for the Exponents for several decades, with countless hits to his name, including ‘Why Does Love Do This To Me’, ‘Who Loves Who The Most’, ‘Victoria’ and ‘Whatever Happened To Tracey’. The Jordan Luck Band will be playing all the classic the Exponents hits on this tour.
