Transport and Travel options:
You will need to catch one of the free buses to the festival because there’s no parking at the festival site. There is also no drop-off area and the road leading to the festival site will be closed to all vehicles except festival buses. (There will be some parking for campers, but a cut-off time applies - more information on this will go directly to people with camping tickets.) Your festival ticket includes free use on any festival bus and also any Bayhopper bus (see below for more details).
Festival buses will depart and return to the following drop and ride locations:
Gordan Spratt Reserve, Papamoa
Blake Park, Mt Maunganui
Tauranga CBD
Windermere (BOP Polytech)
At the time of purchasing a festival ticket, you will need to select a bus route that you will use, this helps with the planning of the bus demand at each of the drop and ride locations.
The following drop and ride locations are recommended to use if travelling into Tauranga on the day of the festival:
If travelling from Auckland or Waikato use Windermere (BOP Polytech) bus
If travelling from Coromandel, Waihi or Katikati use the Tauranga CBD bus
If travelling from Rotorua, Gisborne, Eastern BOP or Te Puke use the Papamoa bus
Limited free parking is available at each of these locations so get someone (your mum, uber or taxi) to drop you off to one of the drop and ride locations. While we have security in place at each of the sites, parking is at your own risk.
Your festival ticket also allows for free travel on any of the Bayhopper buses. The Bayhopper bus stop is located at Bayfair, an easy 10-minute walk to the festival.
